Aslo when was installing ISTA -D I did unblock all files before extracting ? Any reason for that ? Appreciate your help. Thanks

Could be any number of reasons like firewalls or other security software.

What interface are you using? Have you closed all other connections and BMW software before attempting?

Windows firewall is off. No other software running in background. I’ve checked both a k+dcan and icom next, no luck.

Things I have learnt over the months about failure to connect to a car, I guess you may already be aware of them but I once in a while forget something and struggle for long periods

1. Ista+ has its own Ediabas, Inpa also has one in C. Use one. I prefer to disable the ISTA Ediabas and use the main C Ediabas.

2. Are you using easy connect program? I found a version that had two ENET interfaces in it, one of them with strange remote host port numbers. I managed to run the wrong one, which changed my port numbers. I spent three days trying to get my ENET to work!

3. Reconfirm your adapter settings and your device manager com settings. Recheck the usual things, latency, com, transmission rate and just recheck your obd.ini' com port setting.

I did notice inpa can connect where KDCAN fails. in my case it was the chassis. Pre 2007 car that required bridge.

Hope you will resolve it. There is nothing that spikes me like failure to connect when you have connected before without issues. And when the problem is with an ICOM, double trouble. I assume you have changed interface to Remote or STD:OBD for each respectively. Simple things but minds can work in strange ways sometimes.

Yes I did. It turns out that EasyConnect for some reason is not making connection with ISTA-D. I've managed to obtain connection with an ICOM by changing setting to "Dealer organisation ICOM /ENET local area and ISIS network". Thank you for giving me the idea and advice.
