Calculating action plan should easily display list of modules with available software before you initiate. Though, as time passes, an F11, especially Pre-LCI, will have fewer and fewer updates. |

I had 13-7 and updated to 17-7 F11 2010/12. Only difference I noticed was: in Online weather there is also cloud and temperature animation besides rain forecast animations. Naturally I got right information to my HKL module .cafd to enable Smart opener coding, but that is a different thing. |

RE: BMW F11 software flash
Good afternoon gentlemen,
As of 3 weeks ago I started using Rheingold ISTA-D 4.16.14, ISTA/P 3.66.0.200, SDP-BLP 4.16.10 for diagnosing my 2013 BMW F11 525dX (DX45803). I must confess that I”m a novice but I really want to learn how to use this interesting diagnosing/programming tool. Yesterday, for instance, due to an old air spring issue, I connected my laptop with an ENET interface to my vehicle, with the intention to raise/adjust the height of the rear axle. The vehicle is equipped with EDC. The story is longer than you imagine, but what is important is that 2 months ago I had to replace both pneumatic springs on the rear axle. Due to this fact I discovered that the discharge valve from the air compressor (WABCO) was blocked so I was not able to deflate them through ISTA-D. Finally the air compressor was resolved so I replaced the air springs but I did not inflate them using ISTA, but using a simple procedure. Now the vehicle height is very low, at least from my point of view, so I tried yesterday to inflate the air springs through ISTA-D as if I installed them yesterday on the vehicle. Everything worked fine, the vehicle ride was up but after a few tens of seconds ”a breathing sound” was coming from underneath the vehicle, lowering the height of the rear axle again, exactly to the point from where I initially started the operation (approximately 1-1,5 cm above the wheels) as if a solenoid was precisely controlling that operation. I believe that the height sensors are not where they should be. Left side deviation is -1 and right side deviation is 1. That s what ISTA-D says. Are those values normal? The problem is that the height of the front axle is bigger than the rear axle, so much that you can see it just looking at the vehicle from a side. What can I do to fix this issue? The second issue is that yesterday I discovered that a ”Software update” is available for my vehicle for a lot of modules. The actual ILevel is older than the Target ILevel. Can you please tell me if I may try to update all those modules to that Targeted ILevel, using my ENET cable and Rhaingold ISTA-D 4.16.14, connecting the vehicle to a CTEK MXS 10 PRO (10A) 12V source - Supply mode, during the updating process? How safe is the operation using my laptop (a gaming laptop), the ENET interface with this software and the CTEK source? Is there a risk to blank a module or something? Would you do that if you were me? ISTA/P is also on my laptop and is fully operational but after ”Complete Authentication” it says that programming for my vehicle VIN is available only with ISTA 4. What can you advice my in this situation? Thanks to you all! |

RE: BMW F11 software flash
Hi bitcosmin
I've also just started using ista+ to update my car G12 7 series. Last week I've updated complete I-level and as part of the procedure after finishing the coding I was required byu ISTA to calibrate vehicle height sensors - putting the vehicle on a completely flat and level surface, all doors closed, laptop and yourself out of the car & with a precise measuring tape carry out the measurements as indicated by ISTA on all four wheels. This calibration function tells the car the real level condition of each side, encodes it to the module & then recalibrates itself according the predetermined height value that BMW established for your vehicle. This function can be called up any time in ISTA through Vehicle management/Service functions/Chassis and suspension/Electrocnic ride height adjustment/Ride height adjustment I'm not sure if you'll have the same menu structure for your car. quite possibly yes. Although there's a big difference, in your car F11 there's only self-leveling air springs on the rear axle |
