For those who want to use this tool, I share my experience to achieve a functional installation and how to use.

Pre-requisites:
  • EDIABAS
  • ISPA Server
  • TRAC KSD
  • KeyReader (only F ang G series)
  • ICOM, ENET or D-CAN
Source: bmwtools.info

Installation:

  1. BMW_ISPI_TRAC_ISPA-server_10.20.0.0.msi
    Choose a standalone installation.
    Choose an "admin password"

  2. BMW_ISPI_TRAC_KSD_18.02.1.0.msi
    Just install

  3. KeyReader
Just extract into the folder of your choice
Settings:
Use Internet Explorer with Java JRE running (do not use EDGE)
launch IE : http://127.0.0.1:8095/admin
sign with the "admin password"
Check those values :

Then launch http://127.0.0.1:8095/ksd_web

Then launch http://127.0.0.1:8095/ispa_light

Then set all this parameters :
First one is the "User password" (you can leave ISPA)
Path of the binary KeyReader file (default setting): this is the path where you will copy your KEYREADER.BIN file
Save settings and close IE

How to use:
Connect to the car with ICOM, ENET or D-CAN (EDIABAS configuration)
Launch SimpleKeyReader
Save as KEYREADER.BIN in the path you choose before
[Image: Key_Reader.png]

Launch IE http://127.0.0.1:8095/ispa_light (not http://localhost:8095/ispa_light)
sign with the "user password" (ISPA by default)

Then read you KEYREADER.BIN

After reading, those errors are normals (no connection to BMW server), just ignore.

Then ENJOY enjoy

Base Key Data

CC messages / DTCs

Dynamic Timeline

Service Data : A very interesting one to validate that your dealer is not a crookgiggle

Software Integration

Troubleshooting:
If IE can't achieve the KEY.BIN reading, you have to check both:

IE Security settings:

Java Security settings:

If Applet doesn't start, check what the Java console is saying:

Note: ISPA server is runnning in service mode. You can set it to "manual" and run it only when you need it to save some ressources...
