ISTA-D 4.09.13 Standalone

Apologies if this is a really silly question but how are you supposed to install ISTA/D once you have downloaded the files? There doesn't seem to be an installer .exe or anything that looks obvious. Thanks

Standalone are extract and run. Only native are installed.

Ok, thanks. I've extracted it and tried to run ISTAGUI.exe (from C: \ Rheingold \ TesterGUI \ bin \ Release \ ISTAGUI.exe) but I get an error.

"Error
Failed to start ISTA. Please make sure your ISTA configuration is valid. In doubt reset any non standard ISTA configuration and reinstall ISTA"

Does BMW standard tools need to be fully set up before ISTA D will work?

[just keep old istagui.exe and change icon or not it's not a biggie I like it so I change it back

That is usually a registry error. Can also be missing prerequisite software (eg, vcredist 2017). EDIABAS is needed if using to configure connection.

You can check out one of spider80's torrents, which has PDF instructions on installation.

The entered VIN number is not valid and / or not assigned.
Re-enter the chassis number of the vehicle.

Then comes

The recognized vehicle is not covered by the stored dealer contract data.
Processing of this vehicle is not permitted.
Processing of the operation is aborted due to the system.

No matter which vin I enter ..
Does anyone know a solution?

I had the same , i put the two missing entrys in the registry, after that its running fine.

4.09.13 or 4.09.12? I updated through LauncherConsole and it registered SWIData as 4.09.12
Does it make a difference?

I figured out what my problem was - I was copying the SQL database to the wrong folder. Thanks again Almaretto for the assistance!

Version 4.07.31 runs perfect.
