XZBMW  EDIABAS.INI settings for Ethernet "ENET" OBD cable
Hi all,

I guess the subject says it all really - what EDIABAS.INI settings do I need for the ethernet based ENET ODB cable that I intend to plug into my F11?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi mate,

first lines of ediabas.ini should look like this...

[Configuration]

Interface =ENET

or you can download EDIABAS-Konfigurator from here which will change it automatically for you.

Cheers!!

RE: EDIABAS.INI settings for Ethernet "ENET" OBD cable
Hi Mike,

Brilliant, thank you! I actually just re-installed and selected ENET with the same effect.

Do I now have to change the [TCP] and / or the [XEthernet] sections?

The local IP (ipconfig) of the network adapter is 192.168.1.91 - do I just whack that in the [TCP] section and I'm good to go?

All I'm looking to do at the moment is use the SWID Reader - DE version to read by DE file.

Really sorry to trouble you with this - complete noob at this!

Regards,

mroshaw

Answering my own questions as I go, but good for me to learn. Might be useful to someone else too.

So, clearly there is no network configuration required as the car and laptop negotiate I addresses so they can talk to each other. Local network IPs obviously mean nothing to the car.

As such, the configuration file defaulted from an install with ENET selected or reconfigured using konfigurator is sufficient.

So I now have EDIABAS successfully talking to the car. Awesome!

You can actually use a DHCP Server (tftpd32) to speed up the communication of the car with the pc (you will no longer have to wait for the car & pc to "auto-negotiate" an IP).
