BMW E70 controller? problem
Hello, i have a strange problem... when controller idrive is plug in on dashboard i have red dot and all warnings light, radio, pdc, abs, bc dont works. ISTA tree see almost everything on k-can is comunication fault. When i unplug controller everything exept itself its ok and works. I have check all wirings on k-can and change idrive from another car, but still the same problem. Removing other modules does not help, it only works on the controller.
Any ideas ? |

Replace controller. Had same case few months ago. The controller was faulty and CAN was "overloaded".

I have seen same issues with different causes, someone spilled coffee and one case of leaking glass roof(caused also other problems). So maybe extra check is to open old controller and check for "water" damage. |

I have replace it to used one, now i have 2 which are doing the same. It is possible i have buy damaged the same as my ? i don't have other x5 to check.

Check wiring careful again, there may be damaged place which you've missed.
If necessary run new CAN wires from HU pin9 and pin11 to controller. |

The controller was OK, I pulled new installations from the AC panel and it works. Strange, because if there is a short circuit in CAN which i did not fix, why is it working now?

It's easy to check resistance between 2 can wires. 60 Ohm +-
|
