Don't all power switch off completely in 15minutes except CAS key detection? If so how would the RLS communicate to FRM to close windows? No ECU will be listening to the bus! Just thinking aloud. |

RE: F-Series rain auto close
That is true. But.... trafic on the can-bus wakes up modules connected to it. If there is not to much battery drain, this might work.

RLS is sleeping until it starts to rain and wakes up with can messages. Dream on. RLS is not designed to work in that manner at all. It is either ON all the time or off. It would be nice to have that kind of autoclose, but I doubt You can do it in E- or F- series. |

I imagine there is another ECU that sends messages to RLS and RLS responds to these messages with amount of refraction it can detect. Without a master ECU the RLS itself is dead? Will read more on how it works. Interesting ideas though. |

RE: F-Series rain auto close
I did some coding a while ago on my other car (VW Passat CC 2011), and it's working great. I can leave the sunroof opened when it's too hot outside, and have do worry about the rain. It would be awesome to do this on our BMW's.
