I have an E70 X5 with CAS problems.
It was an attempted theft, and I believe the module has been downgraded, but left.

The original eeprom looks to be OK from what I can see, just the flash has problems.

I found Autohex says
Important Note:
Part numbers: 9389115, 9389116, 9395656, 9395657 after downgrade may show some fault codes and car won’t start (fault codes AA0A and AA0B).it can be solved by restoring the flash back to original.

This is correct, I have AA0A and no starting, the CAS does not accept the key, ignition does not switch on.
The CAS reports 9287534 as the ZUSB, I tried an update with WinKFP, auto-determined as 9395656 but the flash has failed with a signature check error.


Can any of the CAS specialists help? Is the EEP OK and what flash should I repair with?

With the CAS flash, it would still not start, so I used your eeprom as a template and copied over VIN, Mileage, EGS ISN, 16b SK, and also corrected Vehicle order and recoded the module for all of the correct settings.

The key is now accepted, ignition can be switched on, but radio remote locking has stopped, and the engine will not start with "2E3C EWS anti-tampering protection"

I have updated the CAS too, but still it has the EWS mismatch, and since this is EWS4, there is no rolling code to reset.

I have checked the 16B ISN, the checksum is correct, but is there something else I need to transfer over as well as 16b ISN?

Autohex can solve this for you by matching isn and returning cas as original.
