As far as I know, the gauge cluster also records mileage and has a rollback indicator. No idea what are the conditions to trip the indicator.

Resetting this indicator is not easy. EEPROM must me unsottered and cleared on bench flasher.

I work in a BMW authorized dealership. I know what FASTA data shows. If the dealership did a key reader this can be seen on AIR and the mileage is one thing that will show. If the dealership performed a short test the mileage can be seen on FASTA along with another parameters that the dealership will not see on ISTA but that BMW warranty or technical support would see. For example if you rev the engine when it was started in the morning they will see the RPMs and the temperature of the engine when it happened. Several controls units in the vehicle store the mileage. Mainly in the PT-Can. Also if you are a regular customer they will see the mileage of all the repair done in the dealership. I can tell you that if you tried to do this i would catch you very easy. Cheers!!!

All depend how car was done..It was properly or it was not It is true the car log mileage on every fault,rpm,tire presure and all creap...etc but those traces can be reseted and actual mileage erased..I see many cars after dealership check thay faund nothing..except if service history doesent match

there is secondary data , only viewable by specialized tester , and or irap , not worth trying to pull one over on BMW don't do it you pay in end run

Over the key. My milage is lowered and all ecus gave me the lowered milage (ista, inpa) but when bmw took my key to order some stuff there was a red line and the real milage apered from the key. I belive so.

I see tons of bmws with blockers (always store same errors) are these detectable by bmw as everyother bmw seems to have one
