BMW mevd17.2.6 cloning help
Have a 2013 BMW E92 335i N55 engine with bad dme.
ecu# 170271990
bosch 0261s09575
8615879-01

Replacement ecu came from 2012 BMW E82 135i N55 engine.
ecu# 170116419
0261s08997
8606310-01

Can i clone over full bdm with ktag ? I know ecu parts numbers dont much but physically is the same ecu. Or just do eeprom and edit isn to match ori and flash everything with ista ?

Complete clone with Ktag. Original still accessible vis OBD? If yes it should be good. Backup, read and save, connect replacement, write.

Wish I was near you, have been dying to do such an assignment with my new Ktag

I ve the same issue  crying

I damages my ECU 135i after opening it for a reprog E85/Stage 1.

But i succedded to backuo it using KTAG.

KTAG save 3 files. The MAP (4MEG, the EEPROM and onthezr file : i do not knwo what it is exactly).

I ve ordered a new ECU to be able to reprog it with the BACKUP ...

Is there any other things i need to do ? I heard "Synchro"  ... What does it mean ?

You have different hardware , old is : 0261S09575 and the new one : 0261S08997. For proper work both hw must be the same.

Using the KTAG is a good cloning method ?

 Best method in my opinion for an ECU that can still communicate via BDM.
