As you can see the only package that will works in GDS2 it is Chevrolet /GM Global 2018.6
The opel 2018.1 and China 2018.2 will not works.
They are not compatible with this GDS2 version

While you are technically correct, GDS2 has this fancy function where you select the package you want to use, click install, and it will revert to the proper GDS2 version required for that package.

Do you wanna say that all packages as opel 2018.1 in this case will work in that GDS2 version?
I have this installed in native windows.
I tried many times in the past and I did it once again now.
No GDS2 version automatically revert.
The only package that its working is GM Global

Your illiteracy with the software is apparent. You haven't even downloaded/tested the VM yet you speak with such validity.

I said you were "technically correct", as in Opel 2018.1 will not work in GDS2 V.20.0.22300, and that is the only time you have been "accurate". Opel 2018.1 works on V.19.0.04100. If you have GDS2 setup properly, it will upgrade or downgrade itself to jump between versions. Either download the VM or stop clouding the post with misinformation.

Thanks, everything works fine. Personally tested.
After the automatic installation of another version of GD2, the diagnostic package starts working.

All SAAB 2018.1, GM Global 2018.3 and Opel 2018.3.
Then in GDS2 v20.022300 only the GM Global 2018.6 can be installed.
True I don't even downloaded your VMware because I have it installed in native windows.
I already said this.
I don't need vmware at all. I just said what I said but I don't know what solution didi you use.
I belive you change the GDS2 version between them to works with one package version that need this version 20.0.022300 and then go back to v19.0.05700 to works with the other packages.
Don't worry I just said what I said I didn't said that I tried your work and it wasn't good I just said that its not possible to use newer GDS2 version with older pacakges ( as you can see there is"Request upgrde" which is mean that need other version of GDS2 to works )

I am certain it should work within a native install of GDS2 as well. The XML file from the deliverable ZIP must be located in C:\ProgramData\GDS 2\PersistenData\Downloads\Deliverables . If you open that XML file you will see a line <RuntimeSystemVersion>Version Number</RuntimeSystemVersion>. The GDS2Install.exe that corresponds to that version number is required in C:\ProgramData\GDS 2\PersistenData\Downloads\RuntimeBackups, within its own folder with the heading of the version number (example for 2018.6 Global: C:\ProgramData\GDS 2\PersistenData\Downloads\RuntimeBackups\20.0.22300\GDS2Install.exe)
