how to identify BMW E Series CiC if It has DAB or DAB+ ?
Hello,

i'm looking for a e series cic pro with DAB+ , but have the issue that i find no information how to identify the difference between models with DAB and DAB+
The only thing i found is that computers with Digital radio do have the two additional antenna connectors (green and yellow)

Any hints how to identify them ?
Chri

Ok, thanks, this is a good hint smile
So next question is if HW31 does also has DAB+ support, i just checked the devices i found on the net, they are all Hw31.

I was also looking for an upgrade Headunit but all I could find were max. 3.1 HW and nothing with 4.0.

CIC needs to have the build date after 09/2010. Mine is HW 40 Date: 36/13 (took this one just to be triple sure, was the only one i was able to find anyway)

RE: how to identify BMW E Series CiC if It has DAB or DAB+ ?
i found most HW40 Boards at E70 CIC`s but no E8x e9x CIC`s
So my actual workaround idea is to flash an E70 DAB CIC board with an e8x e9x FW and put it into my car. but this is an very expensive idea (having one stripped CIC nothing worth anymore).

i read that HW after 9/2010 should be DAB+ compatible, the "issue" is to know which HW lvl it has to be, because i found that HW31 was build in 2010 but not which month.
also one thing that is curious is that at the update log from BMW states a DAB Update on 17.3.2011 with SW C18 "DAB Standard geändert" which i probably the update to DAB+, but i find no C18 SW files, only C19.

i would only take a HW40 and pay attention to date: must be after 09/2010. a 2011 or higher will be safe to buy

PS: buy a complete CIC not only parts of it! i have bought a z4 cic and only replaced the upper case
