Hi,
I want to create a new key for a 2012 Passat with MED17 ECU.
Have one working key already.

Is this possible:
1. Use ODIS S online with Geko to 'reprogram' the existing working key and then get the ECU/CCM PIN code
2. Use that PIN to read the first 6 CS bytes from CCM over OBD with FVDI
3. Learn 7th CS byte from working key
4. Create dealer key using 7 CS bytes and PIN
5. Use ODIS online again with created dealer key to lean and match to immo

OR
Do I just need to get the CCM EEPROM dump and decrypt CS/PIN/MAC?

Thanks, I am only just learning this key and immo stuff.  Was so easy with B6 Passat....

If CCM eeprom dump is the most efficient way to perform new key creation then that's what I'll do

Was just asking if there was a way to achieve the same all over OBD as it's not my car.

with proper tool over Obd on passat b6 
 key learn with one existing key is 3 do 4 minute job 

read pin and 6 byte from ecu 

read 7 byte from working key

prepare new dealer key learn the keys over obd 

job done

Yes I've done B6 no problems, this is the first B7 that I have tried.

I wasn't able to read the ECU PIN using the same method, as the ECU was MED17, not MED9 like B6.
So looks like I will have to get the CCM dump.

IF you get CCM then dont need obd function, fvdi can do it thru tag key tool software, Just drag dump to SW for programing key then FVDI will generate a new dump that's all you need to write back to CCM
