I need to swap a tuned EDC17 DDE from a 01-2009 USA X5 35d into the same car but a few years newer. From the research I have done it seems impractical to change the ISN in the DDE.

So the options seem to be:

*Reading out the old cars CAS, extracting the DDE ISN and copying it to the new CAS, there seem to be some potential problems with this including encryption, and whether it is possible to extract the ISN.

*Reading the tune file from the old DDE and flashing it to the new one, the problems with this one seem like they would come down to any protection the tuner has installed and checksums.

Have any suggestions on how to do this? or any  experience doing this you want to share?
