LFord  PATS Problem
Hi,

Have a rather unique problem and looking to see if anybody has any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Fitted a Delphi DCM3.5 ECU for a Euro V 2.0 TDCi engine to a focus with engine and all the rest...

Usually fitted to Kuga.

Kuga has exactly same GEM / BCM and exactly same HEC / Instrument Cluster
Electrical systems all compatible.

I successfully programmed the PCM with the Kuga calibration, and it is talking to the focus electrics fine as expected.

However problem I'm having is,

Kuga = Only keyfree
Focus = Keyfree / Non Keyfree

So by default, IDS only offers keyfree as an option to program the immobiliser.... my vehicle is not keyfree.

No keys were listed as programmed.
Immobiliser light was flashing quickly continuously.

I managed to fool IDS into programming the keys as a focus, now PATS is showing 2 keys programmed to car and immobiliser light goes out after a while.

However, instrument cluster is showing an error code, B2139, PCM ID does not match PATs.

As such immobiliser is still active.

Last resort I will have to make the car keyfree, but if I can find a way around this problem without doing that it would be preferable lol.

Thanks Again

RE: PATS Problem
KEYS are not programmed to the instrument panel on a Kuga as it’s keyless. They are programmed to the RKE. Maybe your PCM is still looking to the wrong place for key information.

Did you run module initialisation to allow the pcm and the instrumnet panel to share the same immobiliser code?

RE: PATS Problem
Hi,

I haven’t done pats programming before but just did some looking into it and hopefully just needs a pcm initialisation you mentioned.

With key free as you mentioned keys stored in the KVM / RKE module and paired to PCM.

And in non key free keys stored in the Instrument cluster and pairs it’s PCM.

So PCM end hopefully should be same on either system with just where keys stored changing.

So hopefully my fooling IDS into giving m a non key free pats procedure was on right track... and only reason it’s throwinf PCM iD mismatch is because it’s not paired... the Keys themselves seem to be programmed as it’s showing 2 keys and immobiliser light isn’t rapidly flashing and goes out

Will try the procedure and see what happens. smile

RE: PATS Problem
Nope didn’t work.

Make IDS think it’s a focus and I can program keys to HEC but it can’t find PCM as I used an incorrect hardware part number to get the PATs programming option.

Go in as Kuga and it doesn’t look at HEC at all, and says it can’t find RKE / KVM module.

So problem isn’t car end, it’s a software limitation

Do a parameter reset for all the modules to "talk to each other" then reprogram the keys

RE: PATS Problem
Won’t work, apparently this pcm has “borrowed” pats system in part from mk2 Kuga / mk3 focus

Contacted a software creator and they said kingly added focus procedure to Kuga but it failed and they said the logs showed the failure was same problem they are having with the keyfree programming procedure on mk1 Kuga in their software.

So looks like need to either wait or make car keyfree or see if anybody can at least temporarily disabled immobiliser on Delphi DCM 3.5 ecu
