OPCOM "NEW" V1.99 does not communicate with ESC (ECU does not reply, please wait 2 se
Hi guys.
I have Astra G - engine Z16SE. I bought the OPCOM "NEW" 1.99, on which the Chinese has erased the chip number??? I tried many versions of Windows (Windows 7 x64, Windows 7 x86 and virtual Windows XP x86) all the drivers and versions of OP-COM and VAUX-COM that I found, but each time happens error "ECU does not reply, please wait 2 seconds" The driver is successfully installed and is visible in the device manager as: (USB Serial Converter - USB \ VID_0403 & PID_6001 & REV_0600) or (OP COM USB V2 Interface - USB \ VID_0403 & PID_4F50 & REV_0600 - after FTDI reprogramming with MProg 3.5). The interface test passes successfully, but I can not communicate with the ECU. The device can flashing. I tried firmwarefiles 1.39 and 1.45 without success. I hope for suggestions. Best regards! |

This one its a good one too.
It has a real Pic18F458 So to be sure that your tool is good try to connect to ABS ot Airbag in same care. Also you can try to IPC or Radio. But ABS and Aibag is connection on same pin 7 as Engine ECU. So first of all you have to be sure that its not an interface hardware issue. In the rest if you are using opcom china clone its better to have fw1.39 and if you are usibg vauxcom its better to have fw1.45 In the rest all this firmware that chinese advertise are "star dust in our eyes" Check also if the opcom drivers has no VCP installed. Good luck |

Why is not good?
Please details a littel bit. It has a real MCU ( Pic18F458 ) This is important. All the other hardware issues can be solved easy. For kline you need L9637D instead of 33390 chines one. And you have to change a A1040 with a A1050 or MCP2551 on HS-CAN In the rest why you consider it so bad? Good luck |

He is the only one who can test this.
As I can see from his pics the hardware looks as it has a real MCU there. There's no C23 and D5 which are specific for fake MCU. Then if after an upgrade/downgrade the firmware your interface test its OK and you can see the the firmware version change you have a good real MCU. Good luck |

Thanks for the answers guys.
I can not connect to any module on the car, on any pin 3, 7 or 12. In aliexpress many who buy this version complain that Pic has a deleted number and does not work. If he's a real Pic18F458 why someone deletes the numbers??? Is there anything else I can try or I have to give up already ;// Best regards! |

As I told you this hardware is using a real Pic18F458. You can test like this:
Upgrade and downgrade the firmware using Ocflash? After each firmware change if you are doing an interface test using opcom/vauxcom do you see the new firmware and test is OK If yes then the PIC MCU is the corect one. Maybe the chinese changed the pic18F458 with Pic18F4580 wich work only with fw1.39 and opcom china clone software. But if you try to upgrade/downgrade the firmware ypu will damage it Check what kline chip do you have. Is it L9637D? Good luck |
