Hello

I have issues swapping ZGW2 mid with most to ZGW2-8sk. I need to swap zgw because of most delete and nbt retrofit. 

As soon as I connect zgw2-8sk, windshield wipers go on and SZL is not working. Reinitialisation of flexray with tool32 does not help. It says that there is no response from SZL on flexray. 

Everything works fine with unmodified zgw2-mid

I already updated the car to the latest ilevel. The car is F11 520d 12/2011.

Found this mate, seems to explain it. Credits to Loliceman for posting it. I couldn’t work out how to link his post to this thread. But the whole thread is here.

It's easy to flash ZGW, I use this method:
Go to "TAL calculation" => Load FA from 2012/07 or above F10/F11 => Read ECU, save it as SVT_IST.XML => Edit this, change the line "Basevariant" from ZGW to ZGW2, save => load this SVT_IST.XML under "KIS target" => now calculate TAL and you should see ZGW wants a flash.

Thank you all for the suggestions, but I need to swap the ZGW due to future LED headlights retrofit.

The main issue is, as soon as I swap ZGW2-mid plus with ZGW2-8SK, I loose connectivity with SZL_LWS, EHC and HKFM. They are not visible in esys and do not communicate on their respective CAN bus or flexray. Therefore, the windshield wipers are continuously on and I cannot turn them off with the stalk.

I already tried with a different ZGW2-4SK, updated the car to latest istep....

In tool32 I tried the flexray_learn job, but it returns that it cannot communicate with SZL. Fpad ports are all open.

I also copied the SVT from ZGW2-mid plus to 4sk and 8sk, but still no luck.

Did you tried tool32 reset flexyrey learn command ? It will be do

Still the same problem.... flexray doesnt want to initialize. Istep is the latest, vcm target is written, so is fa...

Ok, it is definetly something with the zgw module, not the car. I had a spare zgw2-4sk and flexray worked right away.

I assume something is wrong with the data on the eeprom. Does anyone have a zgw2-8sk dump?
