XZBMW  e60 stalls
Hi got a problem with 2004 e60 m54. The car acted just like on attached link video. Everything pointed to ecu there were code 28b2 that refers to ecu. Eci changed synced but after a few days problem occurs again. Not how to proceed next. There is no fault code in dme. Only in dsc - dme-dsc communication. Crankshaft sensor? I have to check if its clean. Does anybody have the same problem?

Thanks

RE: e60 stalls
Crankshaft sensor is very easy to check: run starter and look at rpms using diagnosis. If 0 - its bad. Then replace it.

RE: e60 stalls
yea you are right but the car starts without any problem or hasitation. This occurs while driving lets say more than 15 minutes. I can check for sure but imho if there would be 0 it would not start

RE: e60 stalls
I had several cases with bad (intermittently) crankshaft sensor but as long as the engine was started it did not stall, at least not immediately (was running on camshaft sensor data I guess). If in gear it felt like loss of power but still drivable. If on idle - it was running rough. And crankshaft sensor error was logged immediately in such cases. It was not possible to start cold engine. Warm could start after long crank and multiple detonations.

Are you sure your "new" DME is ok? I would bet it crashes somehow hence the error in DSC.

RE: e60 stalls
yea its ok, its from crashed car which was running ok. The dsc error shows only when it starts stalling while driving and not everytime. Unfortunately there are no fault codes in dme... there were some as I mentioned in first post poiting to bad dme before changing. Now its clear thats why I have no point what could be wrong. It do exactly the same as on video no matter if while driving or standstill. Otherwise the engine is running like new. Starting, power, everything. It feels like it loose some connection...

RE: e60 stalls
It could be loose connection like power or ground to DME. Or those who synced DME with CAS broke something in DME. You say yourself that DME-DSC connection problems happen when you stall. DME can perfectly run without DSC so that must mean that DME suddenly dies but recovers within seconds for you to restart.

RE: e60 stalls
I synced dme by myself laughing thus I believe there is no problem in DME. Yea connection problem like damaged cable is possible. Will check that tomorrow and let you know.

RE: e60 stalls
thats the bulletin which points me to change the DME. I had 28B2 + throttle flap errors + internal dme fault

dme changed - errors are gone but problem remains xD

today I did two things: replace crankshaft sensor -> old one was broken and full of oil, tighten battery contacts. After tightening of battery contacts even fault triangle on dash went off... car is totaly clear. I drove it for like 30km and no problem. I need to drive it more to be sure but it looks promising.

If it will be ok and the problem was battery contacts... kick me please. Just to clarify the contacts werent loose, I just tighten them more. I will probably grind them a little bit with emery paper.

RE: e60 stalls
Cant figure this one out... still same problem. I changed orings on injectors cause on nr6 there was fuel leakage. Even after this car behave still same. No engine light, stored faults oil thermal sensor and 28b2 speed limit reset. Nothing else
