Hi

I have read that you can use a Toyota techstream cable to work with GM MDI software.
What i read up said it can work as long as techstream software is loaded on the pc.
I cant seem to get it to work.
I have a techstream cable and a Xhorse mvci.

I installed the toyota techstream software and driver but every time i try load the MDI software it cant find MDI.

I have tried version 7.10.87 + 7.14.37 + 7.14.43 + 8.0.73.14 with out any success.

Is there any specific way to load the software?
Does the cable need to be on a car for power when it searches for it?(it says power up MDI)

Sorry mate, but I think that you'll NEVER BE ABLE TO USE ANY KIND OF MVCI cable with ORIGINAL GM MDI MANAGER.

For that you need "cooked/patched" MDI manager software and GDS from Allscanner VCI.

Uninstall MDI
Install again the MDI Manager

Close the MDI Manager

run Techstream on desktop
Setup
VIM Select
Select the MDI
Click OK button to save the configuration VCI
