ISTA+ Vehicle Details Incorrect ??
Hey guys, Anyone here know why ISTA would show an incorrect model code, Type Schussel, when it is confirmed good in esys FA values and checks good with factory production codes?
Is this a glitch in ISTA or something that needs attention at the vehicle level. Especially before encoding modules ISTA version 4.17.1X vehicle- US 535i Xdrive 2011 Thanks |

RE: ISTA+ Vehicle Details Incorrect ??
A big thank you to member @chriz for providing a copy of the BMW factory service history that helped me solve this conundrum. In it, it shows the basic vehicle type is in fact FU73 however the specific model code is FU83. (confusing as all get-out but Dutchland would have it no other way).
A quick calculation with Esys FA2FP in FA editor shows that the typscheclle, Model code, of FU73 is the correct and input of FU83 doesn't yield a valid corresponding FP. With this information keeping FU73 is the correct way to move forward and code/encode the vehicle. Mystery is solved. No glitches in ISTA+ reporting or in E-Sys FA values. This information will be useful for anyone working on a USA xdrive 535i F10. |

RE: ISTA+ Vehicle Details Incorrect ??
This has been an issue for a LONG time. Even on my old E60 which has typecode NC31 it showed NC41, but all coding was correct. My F11 is 5K91 but its 5K01 in stead. Dont know why, but this makes no problem as ISTA anyway reads from VIN, and type code is in VIN.
