I have recently been playing with a 2000 306 hdi and bricked the ECU by uploading a bad file

The ECU is a 1 plug EDC15C2 0 281 010 362

i have purchased a used identical ecu and fitted but the car will not start because it isn't unlocked. i have original files from both ecus.

I have tried IMMO universal decoding 3.2 on both files and uploaded by galletto 2 still with no luck, am i missing something?

Immo is the second memory. You must undress edc and read memory programmer hc o replace the memory.

Is the only way to do this by removing the 29F400 chip from the board and reprograming in a external programmer, or is there a tool that can write to that chip via OBD.

Also is there another way around it eg removing the chip and cutting pins on the wiring loom

Sorted now managed to recover then original by grounding pin 28
