Hi you need to have the C:/EDIABAS
Copy the OBD.ini file in it
Then copy this EDIABAS.INI ( fron the archive ) and repace existed one from C:/EDIABAS/BIN
( I modified your file to be used with K-DACN )
Try then setting the VCI in the BMW Rheingold

1)Yes I checked System Variables and I have this file:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\EDIABAS\Bin;%systemroot%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\EDIABAS\BIN\
2) I Then copy your modified EDIABAS.INI ( from the archive ) and repaced existed one from C:/EDIABAS/BIN
3) In Device Manager set Port=Com9 Latency=1 and obd.ini also set Port=Com9 (Does it mater the file name in CAPITAL letter or not?)
4) I then connected K+DCAN cable to OBD (my CAR) first then connected to USB (Laptop run on Windows 7 sorry I forgot to mention this)
5) Started up Rheingold, in VCI config chose EDIABAS STANDARD SETTING (ediabas.ini)
6) press Read out Vehicle data----> pop up error--->Unable to identify vehicle
Please check vehicle communication interface and vehicle ignition (must be set to ON)....I HAD key inside ignition at the time.

I also tried to replace EDIABAS.INI file inside C:\Program Files\ Rheingold\ediabas\BIN\EDIABAS.INI with your modified file and Still can not get it connect...
NOTE: Inside Rheingold Connection Manager ONLY show device ID= EDIABAS and in BLUE color dot, NOTHING ELSE.

***I bought this K+DCAN cable from the guy did 240E and GTS DCT upgrade on my car and used this cable for the job not long ago so I think the problem is not the CABLE right? or maybe I'm wrong***
Someone advice me to upgrade to latest driver for the cable
