The EDIABAS.INI it is the same as I have in my computer.
I advise you to uninstall the EDIABAS from C:\Programs Files. Maybe there's a conflict
Well you said something about W7. Is it 64bit system?
You need to do something like this:
Plug the tool to the OBD II then to the USB
Turn ingnistion On ( do not start the engine - take care the key muct be in the right position )
Start The BMW Rheingold
Go to teh settings and set the VCI as EDIABAS
Then go to start a diagnostic

I'm so sorry that didn't mention important parts.
I'm running Sony Vaio window XP 32bit which upgrade to window 7 32bit. Does any BMW Diagnostic Program or Software for MacBook? I'm trying to retrieve Error for 2008 E92 M3 only little over 15k miles, it went to LIMP MODE (Reduce Power) a lot lately but after shut it down and restart then all ok. Since I heard this model has issue with Battery and Throttle Actuator. Battery is 6 yrs old may need to be replace to fix a problem and I need program to work so I can DIY and register new battery but I also need to retrieve the error code if it is Throttle Actuator then BMW will replace it for free (California Emission Control System Limited Warranty for 7 years or 70K miles in Service and Warranty manual page 42)
I'll delete EDIABAS.INI file in C:\Program Files\Rheingold\Ediabas\BIN\EDIABAS.INI and will try as you said and give an update.
