BMW E60 basic HIFI retrofit coding issue.
I got my hands on a basic hifi setup, just better speakers, tweeters and bigger subs with the amp that only powers the subs. This amp has no can or optical connection and according to the previous car it had the option S676A for the hifi as seen here https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/cx42524

It is wired in and working, you here it drop out when you crank the engine then come back in with louder and better bass, the issue is I added $676 to the VO and coded the CIC and now when scanning with ISTA the car is showing an amp in red on the most loop.

Can anyone offer advice on what needs coding or does another VO need puttin in instead of $676?

Unlike CCC there is no CAPPL, CHOST, CGATE, CAUDI and CTUNE to default code.

Thanks.

If you have wired signals for amplifier from cic unit delete s676 and code cic to stereo sistem

Yeah I figured it out now, the CIC version runs on the MOST loop and powers all the speakers. The CCC version doesn't. Doh.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks but as I already had CIC all I did was take the wires from the sub and connect those to the amp in as the CIC has 6 pairs of outputs, front, sub and rear so bass isn't the issue just the coding side m8.

I know realise the amp changed for CIC and powers all the speakers with an optical link as well so coding won't work in my case only the correct amp would fix that for now.

I think I will hold out for L7 smile

No, CIC does not use fibre optic when a HIFI amp is present nor does it send audio signal to speakers using fibre optic...

CIC only send audio signal to amp using fibre optic when a Top Hifi/Logic7 amp is used. Then the fibre optic based amp sends audio signal back to speakers using copper wires.

If your Hifi amp is not working as expected, your wiring is wrong then. You coded your cic to hifi already. So that should work.
