RE: Changing adjustblock
@RomeyRome If it indeed need to be replaced then it must have some OTP areas. Did you try to write eeprom from one unit on used eeprom from another unit and verify if all data is written well on it?

Only BMW services:

Remote coding/programming - E, F, G serie
HDD change, Carplay, Screen mirroring activation
FSC pack - CIC, NBT, NBT EVO, ENTRYNAV2, MGU, KAFAS
Remote reset 8HP ISN F serie
ELV disable for CAS3, 3+

I have not tried writing to a used one. I desoldered it and taped it to a safe place just in case smile

In the end was a success? Curios as I never tried... Yes, about the G7, it's the bunch of components soldered to the board, using the ublox G7 chip. I can take these days a photo of it under microscope to give you an idea from another HU that I have around.

I like Objective-C

No yet. No GPS yet. I put a logic analyzer on the gps module, and I'm not seeing any data going in or out.

Are you sure they would be considered different GPS "type" They're just passthrough pins to the LEA size module. I feel like they would share the same GPS config.

But yes, if you can provide a high res image of the populated one, that would be great.

I have a regular NBT, and it's set to GPS 0x01

Then any theory on why it needs to be replaced when adding GPS?

RE: Changing adjustblock
Most of the LEA footprint modules are G6 series. There are no G7 in a LEA module, but G6 & G7 aren't that far apart. Maybe GPS needs to be set to 0x02 for the LEA-6* module also?

m8030 and g7020 are very similar. LEA-8MS is a m8030. That is the first one I tried, but the unit would not boot up at all with it installed. Maybe I'll try again.

There is one sloppy & questionable LEA g7020 module floating out there somewhere in the attached link. I feel like that's what the retrofitters would send you if you bought one of their kits.

We've already passed that point, also reversed engineered the adj block and the checksum calculator. But thank you biggrin
