YTMercedes  SDconnect UART error
Selftest gives UART test = 8 (tested with 07.2014 and some 2012 software in different computer).
However, everything seems to work perfectly (atleast at 2x CDI w211 I tried), so should I be concerned about the error?
MUX is notorious 1010XX china clone.

What chip is this in the board and is it possible/easy to replace?

No, it is not OK, yikes

look: UART test: 8, that is serious error and can not be ignored, that SDC will malfunction in connection with real vehicle. hiddentmi

and for: PMPIC test: 8, you are right, it is just sign that ceaser test was run without or with weak batteries, that error can be ignored. cool

RE: SDconnect UART error
Thanks for your replys.
Strangely the MUX works perfectly in two diesel w211 I have, no problems at all worried
Does anybody know what chip this UART is on the board and is it hard to find new one and replace it by my self + ask for partial refund? Or should I just send the MUX back to seller and take my money back?

How can I calibrate the batteries? I haven´t got the batteries to work properly in any of the china clones, when I´ve installed them?

Hey,

i usually charge the batteries fully, before putting them into unit.
After that, just leave the unit in car charging, batteries will be calibrated in few hours. You can see from the display, when the batteries are calibrated, the line enclosing the battery image, will turn solid.

RE: SDconnect UART error
Does it matter what kind of batteries I use? Usually when I´ve tried to install batteries, they charge for a while and MUX starts to display "batteries cannot be charged" at the screen?

Yes, it does, you should use NiCD Batteries 1.2 V, but with capacity of max. 700mAh. itwasntme

Please take a note that chinese clones often have low quality voltage regulator circuit elements and cannot drive higher capacity of NiCD batteries like 2000 and more mAh. worried

RE: SDconnect UART error
I've read that a UART error may be caused by a defective relay contact.

If I can replace my LAN board on.my old mux, I'll try to see why my old one had a UART error....
