Unable to read me 9.2.1
Hello,

I am trying to connect to a Bosch Me9.2.1 (attached is the exact part number) dme over can using the diagram attached below however Inpa will not communicate with dme. I get the error no response from control unit.

I have tried to read using dcan and Kline. I have tested with two DMEs same result. I know it’s the not cable since this method works with MSD80 no problem. Any idea on why this will not work?

you cant connect like that
check the wiring digram and look for the wire which go to OBD2 pin 7 or pin8 then you will know what to do and how to check

Remember the different CAN buses. D-CAN is not the same as PT-CAN.

For using EDIABAS / INPA / ISTA you need a gateway and D-CAN (= Diagnosis CAN).

Your connection scheme show PT-CAN (= PowerTrain CAN). I think it is for using with BMW Explorer or something similar.

Understood but why can I connect to a MSD80 this way? And why does not Kline work this way either? I have done this with other dmes no issue at all!

I tried 120 ohm resistor did not help.

Solved! The picture Eddy posted allowed me to read and flash the DME with winkfp!
