ISN code + immo
Someone write it long time ago.
You need programmer and clone your dme/dde

Well, I don't have the old DME anymore.. so I just found BMW IMMO ID Editor, and I'm buying some hardware for reading the EEPROM where the ISN is storage, so I can clear the ID SN.. If it works I'll post the procedure..

So you have two options now.
1. brand new dme/dde
2. used one then wipe it and program vergin flash and then use ista/p, maybe winkfp (not sure) and program to the car

And remember to write IMA codes for injectors

You can't use DME from other car, because VIN is not in eprom but in the litle memory chip near eprom. If you know some electronic he will see what is memoy chip and you could desolder it from old ecu.

The car does not start because ISN is wrong in your new (used) ecu.
VIN does not matter: if you have right ISN (paired between CAS and DME) the car will start with different VIN in DME too !
So to fix this issue you need a proper tool (AVDI or BMW Ex.).
Can you tell me what ecu do you have ?
It is a diesel or benz car ?

Thanks, that exactly what I did, bought a AVDI clone and It worked.. by the way, I've been reading about BMW Explorer, is it better than AVDI?

Hmmm, BMW Explorer looks much better than the AVDI Software ...

In DME Isn is in flash, vin to. You need to read flash ori Dme find Isn and write Isn to used Dme.
Than EWS Reset in Inpa. Car must start.
