Hello friends, I am making a change in a mini cooper f56 in the taillights, the factory car had halogens, these were replaced by the Union Jack (the coding was done and pin no. 1 of each connector was moved to pin no. 5) all it has worked very well.


Now I want to install rear led headlights, not union jack like the ones in the following image:



I have connected them without modifying any coding or wiring (with the same configuration as the union jack) and everything works really well, turn signals, reversing light, position light, but there are two problems, the first is that the brake light of the The lower part of the headlight does not light up, only the brake light in the upper part of the headlight lights up and the 2nd problem is a BFD bug in ISTA, which has been eliminated for now by adding MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_2_X_OUTPUT=BFD_X

At the moment I have not tested if BFD works when braking hard or if the error will return.

Does anyone have an idea of what steps to follow to go from factory Halogen headlights to LED headlights like the ones in the non-union jack image? Or on the contrary, from Union jack to led headlights with 5 cables in each connector of the lights.

Hi, original Led headlights needs 6 wires to works, in halogen headlights you have only 5 wires so you have to add it.

Thank you very much for your answer, I could see that in the schematics in ISTA, but Union Jack also needs 6 cables, however it works well with 5 cables, I thought that maybe these headlights could also work with 5 cables in some way by varying some line coding

Union Jack headlights works with 5 wires, this is the reason why it's possible to retrofit it in all F56 Mini
