Hi everyone. I need information about the can frame containing the temperature of the liquid and oil (ID and message format). Using this frame, the cluster operates with the temperature pointer. Unfortunately, after a few hours of searching, I can't find anything. Could someone help in this matter? Of course, I was looking for data on PT-CAN. On E series is 0x1D0 but F series dont have 0x1D0. Regards.

what engine is it
what oil do you want to know? Motor oil / automatic oil etc..

The car is F01 Lci with N57D30S engine. I must know cooling water temp and engine oil temp from CAN (PT-CAN). This is very important for my project. If on PT-CAN is gearbox oil temp too thats would be great.

look at which is the right PRG file for your engine and it contains the addresses for the values,

example 335xd N57z "d75bx7a0.prg"

Prg is not going to give you the message that is on the PT-CAN bus - prg files contain the UDS diagnostic request and response to the GW - not the actual real-time message on the internal bus.

Exactly. I need this information directly from PT-CAN. 3rd day of frame analysis and no idea where and in what form this information is.

dump pt-can and make bench setup which has ie. instrument cluster. Send the frames there and see when temp reacts?

monitor CAN frames from 0x1D0
standard message frames are 8 bytes.
1st byte is the engine temperature +48 degrees Celsius (example a value of 0x90 == 144 - 48 = 96°C)

I may be wrong, but i believe BMW now defaults to "Engine Temperature" which is the measurement of oil temp (more efficient in my opinion) however see the second byte in the same frame.. if it's not 00 or FF, it could be the oil temp, with the 1st byte being coolant temp.

Racelogic has CAN DBC's on their website for the F series

Nothing about Temp messages. 0x1D0 is in Exx series. I must log all frames and send it one by one to KOMBI on bench. I think is only one way.
