Hello friends!

When i try to install this on my system i get a popup screen that says: """
The installation prerequisites for ISTA/P are not met. Installation is not possible (see ISPI next planning guide.) """


How do i solve this? It don't work to install can someone please help me :/

Hi,

I'm having the same problem as tontito. The popup appears just after the installer completes configuring the firewall.

I'm doing a clean install on a fresh install of Win7 32 bit on 2.6GHz CPU, 3GB RAM, 200GB HDD. I have modified the CPU requirement in the MSI using SuperOrca, but I'm still getting the popup.

I have tried various .net frameworks, installed Win7 SP1, but still no luck.

I have searched this and other forums and cannot find the answer. I see that sometimes you have to have a previous version before installing. Is this required for this version?

Any help would be great!

Thanks all. Its working. I have not programmed anything yet, but it connects and reads an e93 and shows 3 modules require updating. I'm a bit worried as I only have a K+DCAN cable and I get a popup saying to use MOST.

I didn't need to use the Register.reg file included. What is it for?

Also installed - patched EDIABAS 7.3, Java, ran NetworkTool and use ISTA Loader V4.1 by beemerboy88.

I have been trying to install on a VM(virtual machine):
- Win7 x64
- 2GB memory
- 182GB free of 250GB virtual disk space

The 'host' system, a MacBook Air:
- i5 CPU @ 1.7GHz
- 256GB SSD - but only 130GB free hardware disk space (not enough for ISTA-P).

So I have been trying to setup the ISTA-P VM on an external USB drive. Yes, it's doable.

Due to the hardware limitations, I was also getting the initial install error upon running the .msi file:
"The installation prerequisites for ISTA/P are not met. Installation is not possible. Further information can be found in the ISPI Next Planning Guide."

I used SuperOrca to open the original installer (BMW_ISPI_ISTA-P_SYS_3.58.0.500.msi). In my case the hardware limitation categories that were clashing with the original installer's requirements were:
1. Memory 2GB versus the installer's 3GB requirement.
2. CPU Speed 1.7GHz versus the installer's 3.5GHz requirement.

Therefore, my solution was to edit as follows:

Edit ISTA-P installer MSI file (BMW_ISPI_ISTA-P_SYS_3.58.0.500.msi) using SuperOrca:
1. Edit 'MIN_MEMORY' from "3000" to "2000"
2. Edit 'MIN_CPU_CLOCK' from "3500" to "1700"
3. Edit 'SecureCustomProperties' from
"CHECKBOX_AUTO_UPDATE;INSTALL_MODE;NETFRAMEWORK35;PREVIOUSVERSIONFOUND"
to
"INSTALL_MODE;NETFRAMEWORK35;PREVIOUSVERSIONFOUND"
(deleted "CHECKBOX_AUTO_UPDATE;")

Now ISTA-P is installing - 5 hours and counting, but at the final stage of 5 install stages. Hopefully it will complete without further issues.
