RE: Golf MK5 2008 - Cruise Control Retrofit Problem
i would check
if brake pedal switch is ok
clutch pedal switch is ok
one of them will be your solution
and before you ask, no you would not get an error in fault memory
and yes, brake light switch has two contacts, so please don't say its ok, when brake lights are on.

Cable from pin 13 must be there, else you would have error in ecu.
ECU is coded right.

RE: Golf MK5 2008 - Cruise Control Retrofit Problem
The GRA lever is correct.
The coding 42 in #16 is CCS friendly. (GRA+MFA+rear wiper)
Login in engine is correct 11463. Coding is irelevant.
Wire is probably there. 1Ks after 2005 have it installed by factory.
BN steering wheel module is GRA compatible. GRA equipment level is covered anyway when MFA is present.

Only thing I can think of is a problem in brake light switch or cluch switch. Probably clutch switch since the brake light switch is usually diagnosed by the ECU and give error codes. Still you should check both. If I remember correctly it's channel 066 for petrol engines. Not sure about the channel in diesel engines but with VCDS you shouldn't be much troubled to find it.
It's an 8digit binary display. The first and second from right should be the brakes and the third should be the clutch. Both brakes bits must be 0 with breke not pressed and 1 when pressed. Same with clutch. If e.g. you see permenent 1 in clutch the ECU thinks you constantly press the cluch so.... no CCS. And since this is possible use of the clutch (possible, not logical) there is no error code.
Check it and get back to us with the results.

If my post was helpfull, Thanks and Rep would be appreciated.

RE: Golf MK5 2008 - Cruise Control Retrofit Problem
Problem like markusboy said: clutch was permanent on 1 when watched in ecu with vcds

Solved: Wires at clutch sensor under the battery was ripped.

RE: Golf MK5 2008 - Cruise Control Retrofit Problem
Glad I helped. Same applies to Audi 8P as it uses the same ECU logic. There however the steering wheel control unit deviation is a bit more trickier...
