Hi, Noob here,
Forgive me if I have missed something, but I haven't found an answer to my problem yet.
After installing FStools it all seem to work fine, I plugged into car using DCan and pressed connect, reported that it had established connection, set parameters for 1B, entered donor vin, and then tried to read FSC status, no luck, tried Check_fsc, no luck. error codes were 2020 and 1708.
Funny thing is, I disconnected the cable from the car and fstool still establishes a connection.
I am obviously missing something.
Any suggestions please.

Hi, try to install like this :http://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=23685 , in my case i've reinstaled ediabas ,carserver ,java and fstool then worked fine, if problem persist try to use sebastianfernandes's sollution too.

That is expected. The successful FSTool connection you see is to the car server service running on the pc/laptop.
The best way to check is by using one of the functions like GET_VIN etc, CHECK_STATUS etc.

Do you have any other tools that you can use to check the DCan connection? INPA, NCSExper etc?

I had ISTA+ and ISTA P running on the DKan cable, but since my first post I have broken it. Now I don't know what I have done, something I did with EDIABAS.
So, I will now rebuild my computer and start again.

As per your advise I downloaded and installed, but also have connection problems. Just to add a little background and what I know so far.
My 2011 123d came with a retrofitted CIC has an emulator connected with options for camera and camera pda ticked.
After weeks of pulling my hair out I was able to get into the unit for the files needed for 1B. I could only get these using an asix adapter and winSCP. ftp'ing with firefox did not work.
I managed to generate necessary fsc codes for both single and life activation but they were not accepted, I confirmed that these codes were correct from a contact on ebay.
So I think my CIC is script activated hence these programs.
I am sure as soon as I can find out what I am doing wrong I will be able to get in.

Hello all,
Does anyone know if it possible to connect using the center console or glovebox usb, using an ethernet adapter. (I managed to retrieve "generalPersistencyData_DiagnosticSWTController" file using this method, as my cars OBDII has not been wired for enet. I note that in fstool on the connect screen option seem to be set on K-Can.

WooHoo, got a connection now. BUT......
FStool connects but returns error 1000 when I run "Get Status" and "Check_FSC" see pics attached.
Any Ideas

When I load FSC Do I need to sign FSC first before Upgrading? or load then go to Upgrade section?

I got some problems to establish the connection between FSTools and the car.
Installed the complete package.

Java 1.5.22 with the copy in EC-APPS and the setting change from Java Home.
I used the new files with 'better' settings that are posted in this thread.
Got the 2 shortcuts on the desktop
I use an original Icom Next and reserve it in ItoolRadar.
I got a perfect working connection with Tool32, INPA, NCS, ... Nothing of those programs is used together with FSTools.

When launching csd-start I get the cmd window and keep it running.
Start_FSTool_v2_CarServer.bat brings FSTools on.

In the connection window the PSdZ Bus is grayed out and standing on K_CAN. I can't change that...
I did test different types of IP adresses:
the one that's standing as default, the one that's showing in Ediabas Konfigurator,
and the one from ItoolRadar with different types of ports...
Nothing is working.

Does anybody have an idea?
