Obdlink sx cable damaged - no ecu read
Hi,
I have a problem with the obdlink sx device, it doesn't read anymore.The computer recognizes it, renolink also, but it does not find a any computer, tried it on several vehicles and two laptops. The version is 1.94. Also tryed ddt4all, obdwiz and says no enought power etc. I think is hardware problem but where to start. Best regards |

Renolink interface conected, ddt4all also conected, obdwiz say no enough power. I try with different car both laptops. Adapter is not china clone last three digits is 923. I try update new firmmware, version 5.7.1 original is 5.6.5 stn1130, return back same. No idea. Best regards |

If your cable is genuine or not you might want to try and factory reset it. Go to https://www.scantool.net/scantool/downloads/utilities/ and from there take OBDLinkUSBFactoryReset.exe
Once the cable is reset with success try and connect to a car with any generic program and see if all is working. If the cars you tested are CAN and still after reset still does not work you might want to replace it's can chip - MCP2551 is a high-speed CAN transceive . That one can be replaced with a few models like TJA1040,TJA1050,PCA82C250, PCA82C251 or one almost similar MCP2561E . All these are easy to find in old airbags or can gateways if needed .
