Hello to all,

I have here BMW 116i E87 where SW update by ISTA-P ended by error on DME module. I tried to make an update with WinKFP and it ends everytime with error on 33% while flashing. 
So I get the same part number another unit from another car and my friend clone it for me by KESS. He said that EEPROM he changed completelly from bricked unit and FLASH he said that there were all just FF so he left it as it was.
The unit was putted back in car and I got an error of DME-CAS synchronization error. I tried to run in ISTA service function of synchronising DME-CAS but it ended with error - different values in DME and CAS units.
So the friend readed complete CAS for me but unfortunatelly he don´t know where to look for the ISN number there...
Can someone PLEASE have a look on it and edit for me ISN in DME or CAS to match each other? I am attaching full backup of bricked DME, new DME from another car and CAS.

You can’t clone a bricked ecu as you will clone over the issue, you will have to get your friend to put the original file back onto the new ecu, once you have done that you will need to read out the isn and then put that into the cas

There was EEPROM from bricked unit wroted to new used unit. FLASH stayed untouched. So the best will be to leave new unit as it is and change just ISN number there and VIN maybe too.

I've corrected the ISN and the VIN in the external flash of the used DME.
Write this file to DME, sync CAS and DME and engine should fire up.

The ISN is in a protected area of the flash, I have tried before, BDM will stop of flash programming.
I'm sure it is mentioned in the datasheet, there is a write protect pin which needs to be lifted and held high, standard fitting is soldered to ground.
If I need to clone one, I solder the chip, quicker and easier than trying to lift one pin and hold high.

Other option is to change ISN in CAS.
