End of the road for us
Hi everyone,
I was working on a 7 Series G70 last month and everything was locked down. Couldn't even read a single CAFD file. The future doesn't look to bright for the industry, unless you go OEM, even then there will be a lot that cannot be done. What are your opinions? BMW: CODING, PROGRAMMING, FSC, Apple CarPlay etc
VAG: CODING, PROGRAMMING, CP, Apple CarPlay, etc MOST SERVICES ARE AVAIALBE REMOTELY. WhatsApp: +447838191805 https://wa.me/message/ETI4FKOAF3JLJ1 |

RE: End of the road for us
They will shoot themselfs in the foot if they want everything going back to their main dealer they will have a problem as they will be backed up for months and months,
people then will start getting pissed of with them and move on to something else, everyone needs their cars yesterday so getting it recovered to dealer as indy dont have access, then dealer telling you it cant been looked at for 3 weeks want wash with a lot of people Ive noticed the price of the good old reliable vehicles going up as people are slowly realizing new vehicles are utter utter sh1te |

In EU - AOS. So no problem to FIX cars. And if in your hole there is nothing - pressure your lawmakers. Problems are for FDLrs only. And I'm pretty sure price is going up for old cars because it's going up for everything. Not because new cars are "utter utter..." (well, some of them are). But no one is forced to buy "utter utter...". |

RE: End of the road for us
Im in Europe, we got the likes of PSA, Renault, kia, Hyundai, that are snapping wet belts at 30k and chains at 60-70k, your correct no one forced them to buy but they didnt expect to be having a full engine rebuild when their vehicles are 3 years old, even the main dealers cant cope with the amount of warranty work on this new crap
Yes we can OEM but that puts the price of everything up, the customer just understand how it works, they just think they're getting ripped off |

RE: End of the road for us
I always expect all possible problems with those brands you just listed. Since they started using plastic alternators, etc... Hence I don't touch them at all and I'm perfectly happy with that
And I really don't care about "drivers" who buy car based more on colour and look than technical details I call them charioteers |

RE: End of the road for us
Problem is 70% of the folk as they're just working class can only afford the cheaper brands, yes there's a lot of young woman, including my daughter that would buy a new vehicle because she likes how it looks
Here we've aslo got VAG, Bmw with t\chain issues and brand new Mercedes fitted with Reanult engines |

RE: End of the road for us
Wow this is escalating quickly from coding “issues” to trusted cars… anyway ista online is there for every decent workshop. My advice is go with the technology, get your workshop setup correctly for the current time. New generation bmw isn’t the old school e30 tech. It’s evolved and more complicated than just swapping some fuses. Let’s not even talk about EV and hybrid!
On the other hand we as bmw enthousiasts or professional business have to thank bmw for going offline so long. There are many brand working online a couple years now. We all knew there could be a day that fdl coding and retrofits will be harder to execute. And some retrofits al still possible even with coding 2.0/3.0 |

RE: End of the road for us
Online is good but looks like we'll have to stick with a couple of brands unless we can afford to buy OE vci for each brand we currently work on

RE: End of the road for us
let me guess, all these unhappy and arguing fellas use all the cracked, buggy and free software?
there are cheap OEM solutions like TIS and AOS, 30€/24hrs, or that is too expensive for you? MGU Patching/Virginizing.
Feature Installer codes. Physical NBT EVO Repairs. CarPlay activations. Remote BMW Coding. [email protected] |
