Hello and greetings to All Members.
Recently, my DAS stopped working. Xentry 12.2012 works OK for Xentry models. But when DAS is needed (for older models) it displays " VCI- firmware update" message as shown on the attached photo. And the initialization error. I have a nasty feeling that my C4 (cloned) went bad. What do you think? Any suggestions? Cheers

put batterys inside Sd Connnect  and go to SD Toolkitt  and make all updates Updates

Doing the update of all the firmware is unnecessary and has a high percentage of getting a brick...

Just put batteries inside Sd Connnect to allow automatic firmware updates when needed.

Hi, I performed software updates on this C4 after I installed new Xentry 12.2021. As I said before, all was working fine. DAS problem developed recently. Strange, because Xentry is working OK. If this is C4 RAM problem, can this be repaired. A friend has broken C4, maybe his RAM is OK.

Because it is not necessary to do what you say and as I say, some firmware is prone to corruption in its update, instead of doing unnecessary things and with the risk of increasing the problem it is better to do what should be done only.

I repeat it, it is very clear: It is not necessary to update all the firmwares and therefore increase the risk of bricking the mux. It's easy to understand.

My C4 has same issue.
It was working fine in the past, but one day,
When using Xentry and click 'Xentry Diagnosis' in the first page, suppose it will detect VIN and model ...
Or during using DAS directly...
C4 will show 'csr'
   

In this moment, firmware update will popup automatically then update and reboot C4 couple time, but then Xentry or DAS will said connection problem.
Feel like something wrong that triggered firmware update, but update keep fail.


However if selected car model in Xentry, then click on Xentry Diagnosis,
PDU_API will be used,
   
Then my C4 still work in Xentry,
and still work fine in vediamo and DTS.


I believe my C4 is broken, it has problem working in 'csr' mode.
Don't know is it able to fix easily.
So I'm looking for C4 DOIP.

Finally, I decided to go for new C4 unit DoIp with WiFi working. Thanks to you All.
