CDC Changer Software
Hi,
My CDC Changer is not working anymore. It is a slot in type and not with a cartridge. The Changer loads and ejects all original CDs but it simply doesn`t play it. The lense has been cleaned already without result. During the last visit with BMW, I`ve asked the dealer to check it but he didn`t do it he simply said “Replace”, because it`s very common that the unit will break. So I checked the status and all looks good except the software, see picture. Should there be a software and if yes can this be reloaded? How? I remember I did the Video in Motion during driving with the CIC Mafia Utility, can this destroy or delete the software from the CD Changer? If I find a used one can it be simply installed or a software update is also required? How? Please bear with me I`m a beginner. Thanks |

Not betrieb but function software is the actual value for CDC.
I think the pickup lens is dead and for Alpine AFAIK is hard to find replacement. I got a dvd changer which read only original DVDs, but refuse to read recorded. |

I also think the laser is out of order. If you find an used one, you only need to code it.

Best bet is get a used cdc from ebay.
 you don't need to code cd changer if your car comes with it from factory. just swap and it will work.

Hi
I´m still looking for a used part. I figured out that the Laser Pick Up cannot be replaced on this model. You can only replace the whole cartridge, cost approx 250 $!!! Thats to much for a simple test. Cheers |

Hi got the replacement, but it's also not working.
Could it be that while I deactivated the speed lock with CIC Service Utility that I broke something or something has been disturbed? Any Ideas how to check it? Thanks Cheers |
