XZBMW  JBBF (Junction Box Electronics Front) how to identify
Hello,

Im gathering all the parts to retrofit 5DP Park Assist, but I'm having a hard time buying a JBBF used on all these parts markets.

Most advertise a part number that is not real with the number displayed on the parts.
This is also not new as they do it to try to sell without caring with returns.

But the weird part is, in 20-30 adds I'm only able to find one of the part numbers

A example :

Cant find it anywhere.
How to extract the part number is not easy, but on some parts its easy to spot others the numbers are weird combination.

What I'm hunting
JBBF (Junction Box Electronics Front)
The version without Park Assist has the PDC ECU built in.
JBBF PNs:
61356992414 (07/01/2017 — -)

61359393665 (03/01/2016 — 04/19/2018)
61359384212 (07/01/2015 — 12/22/2016)
61359361114 (03/01/2015 — 03/10/2016)
61359353417 (07/01/2014 — 08/06/2015)
61359345320 (03/01/2014 — 07/03/2015)

If anyone could advice how we can decrypt the front or where we are able to see the part number would be great.
In some we have a  "SN :" others we have "s:" or maybe there is another combination.

RE: JBBF (Junction Box Electronics Front) how to identify
Regarding parts not being in ETK that was explained many many times on this forum. For example: https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.p...pid=533399

Regarding identifying part # from the case it's not always very easy. In your third picture S: immediately LOOKS like a part number and IS actually a part number (9244389) which was used on F001s and F010s withOUT any of 415, 416, 508 options. So not what you are looking for.

The first one is more difficult but (after trying many numbers from the unit) 9384211 (8 symbols just after letters JB) is (found to be) a valid BMW part number and it points to JBBF, so I would assume it actually is THE part number. However it was also used on the cars without any of above mentioned options. In this case it was also used on cars with 5DP which IMHO again is NOT what you are looking for.

Node
ETK lists part numbers which ARE sold CURRENTLY as replacement parts.
These change with each firmware revision and so on.
Especially for electronic units usually there are tens of compatible part numbers. Most of them are not in ETK AT ALL.
Meaning not even in part number history because they were never sold as REPLACEMENT parts, but only installed at factory.

------------------------------

Understood smile thank you so much. I see the challenge and its extremely tricky smile
Its like if the part number was build on a car that has a VIN - Options similar to my - Options/structure/region then ... maybe I'm lucky to catch one that really fits.

In this case seems the bullet proof plan is to buy a new one.
The other options is a detail investigation, that based on what I was able to find is complex.

One question how did you know "(9244389) which was used on F001s and F010s withOUT any of 415, 416, 508 options."
Is this Database Public? that i can use to track down the info/history.

The database is called KIS. Again as mentioned many times on this forum. Not exactly public, but anyone who has PSdZ data has it smile Now whether the above mentioned one is able to parse it's data manually is totally unrelated question...

P.S. If you come up with other part numbers I can look them up for you.

RE: JBBF (Junction Box Electronics Front) how to identify
Thank you after that small Hint on the DB i was able to find a way
hsqldb v2.7.0

java  -cp X:/hsqldb-2.7.0/hsqldb/lib/hsqldb.jar org.hsqldb.Server -database.0 file:KIS -dbname.0 KIS
and on another window use the DB Manager for visualize
java  -cp N:/Downloads/hsqldb-2.7.0/hsqldb/lib/hsqldb.jar org.hsqldb.util.DatabaseManagerSwing

The tricky part is understand the Schema/entity relation model
I got a bit lost on these german names.

Could you be so kind on letting me know what does this belong to

RE: JBBF (Junction Box Electronics Front) how to identify
Thank you for the feedback

It seems there is also the difference is also if its for
Automatic transmission = Yes
S205A or S2TBA

Does it fit on F11 with Automatic Transmission?

Am I correct on saying
If a Car has 5DP he will not have 508 as it does not needed.

Park Assist S5DPA
Meaning the car has Park assist has to have the PDC module with all 8 sensore back and forward / the lateral sensors with the PMA module.

RE: JBBF (Junction Box Electronics Front) how to identify
It's not that easy to simply check for auto/manual in KIS for JBBF. It's hidden behind type codes. For JBBF there can be 10-50+ of them for a single part number so the only way to check whether all of them are auto/manual is check all of them one by one... Quite annoying and time consuming. But if ETK says that they are different, then it must be true.

It would help if you would tell which type code you car is, then it's possible to do a much simpler search for it specifically and find all part numbers which match...

P.S. That last one seems to be used on auto F06/F12.

RE: JBBF (Junction Box Electronics Front) how to identify
So for 5L31 PDC JBBFs over the years (all have same HWEL):

1. 4155104 was used when
a) one of 415/416 and 5DP and none of 205/2TB
b) 508 and no 5DP

2. 4523517, 4525170, 4527813, 2748386, 4125935 were used when
a) 5DP and none of 205/2TB
b) 508 and no 5DP

These are part numbers as were installed in factory. Note, that KIS says type code 5L31 is MECH transmission smile Or maybe it depends on options, IDK. But then default is MECH smile

Now replacement part numbers for those parts were (in no specific order, may contain duplicates, have not checked HWELs, could potentially have different conditions of installation):
9312763, 9312764, 9312771, 9312765, 9312768, 9312769, 4155102, 9312766, 4155103, 9345327, 9345322, 9345323, 9345321, 9345326, 4523515, 9345324, 9345329, 4523516, 9353421, 9353418, 9353426, 9353419, 4525169, 9353420, 9353424, 9353423, 4525168, 4527812, 9361120, 9361117, 9361123, 9361118, 9361115, 9361121, 9361116, 4527811, 9384221, 9384219, 9384218, 9384214, 9384215, 9384213, 9384216, 2748385, 2748384, 9393667, 9393669, 9393668, 6822007, 4125934, 9393671, 9393672, 9393666, 4125933, 6992416, 6992421, 6992415, 6992418, 6992423, 6992420, 6992417.
