EDIT: Should there really be two different CAFDs with label "Codierdaten (CAF)"?

FYI, If you want to deactivate Automatic Start Stop as you called ASS, you should FDL code DME/DDE and not BDC module.
Correct me if Im wrong.

Yes, my mistake. Of course, ASS is in DME. What I've coded in BDC_BODY2 was side mirror tilt angle when reversing (ASP_BORDSTEINAUTOMATIK_DELTA).

You can find more about injecting by searching, but shortly:
Go to expert/coding, connect car, read FA, read SVT (ECU), click on BDC_BODY2 in the list, click Detect CAF for SWE, in the window which opened scroll to 22-03-530, select ALL 4 CAFDs under it, select BDC_BODY2 again, click Code.

For this to work you MUST select ALL 4 CAFDs and you will loose any custom coding, so will have to redo it.

P.S. I learned to understand KIS database (probably not 100% yet smile).

Thank you very much, I'll do that as soon I can. I'd like to check all other ECUs as well - what is the quickest way that I can do that (besides clicking "Detect CAF for SWE" for all ECUs)?

EDIT: I've checked all ESUs and here's a list of mismatched CAFDs:

BDC_BODY2
  • CAFD_00001DF7_006_024_071 (correct) -> 144 (incorrect)
ACSM5
  • CAFD_00001B29_006_006_065 -> 161
  • CAFD_00001B2C_002_010_024 -> 021
  • CAFD_00001B2D_002_011_067 -> 058
  • CAFD_00002ABF_004_000_050 -> 054
DKOMBI3
  • CAFD_00002660_011_000_114 -> 111
DME_BAC2
  • CAFD_000029B7_000_022_072 -> 018
EGS
  • CAFD_00002458_009_044_022 -> 019
IHKA4
  • CAFD_000022D3_011_007_008 -> 004
KAFAS4
  • CAFD_00002089_009_000_109 -> 096
USS
  • CAFD_00002795_022_000_013 -> 011
ZBE4
  • CAFD_00002316_001_000_024 -> 025
That's a shitload of CAFDs! I have no idea how that idiot ended up with having newer CAFDs alongside some older ones than the current I-Step?

Anyway, I'll have to code these ECUs... And then I'll have to code all other ECUs aswell, since they may have been FDL coded wrong default values. Or not? What's the fastest way for me to recode the whole car back to defaults?

RE: eSys: ECU contains software units not contained in SVK_soll
They are not necessarily older or newer. They are just different. You can't tell which are newer/older based just on version numbers alone! While it is somewhat true (maybe in 80% cases) for the same unit HWEL, it certainly does NOT between different units even of the same family! And here some CAFDs are for the WRONG units than ones which are supposed to be in your car...

To code whole car to default you can select top branch in the coding window and click code. Then ALL units will be coded. But you still must inject proper CAFDs manually.

RE: eSys: ECU contains software units not contained in SVK_soll
Okay, so here are the steps that I'll do to fix it:

  1. Inject proper CAFDs to ECUs (Detect CAF for SWE -> current I-Step -> Code)
  2. Code the whole car to defaults (right click top branch -> Code)
I'll suppose afterwards I'll have to clear any faults that popped up during coding? Can this be done via eSys, or will I have to use ISTA+?

RE: eSys: ECU contains software units not contained in SVK_soll
Thank you all for your help, I was able to successfully inject all the correct CAFDs back into all ECUs thumbsup

I also cleared all faults and now I only have to update the SVT in VCM in the car.

How did you configure esys to show the full ecu name, instead of just the abbreviation?
