Strange Problem X1 E84 goes in P when driving
Hello, I have a strange problem. BMW X1 E84.
if you want to drive off and if you are not wearing your seat belt, the automatic transmission jumps to P. normally this should only happen when the DOOR is open AND when you are not wearing your seat belt at the same time. Unfortunately, although the door is closed, it happens I checked all the door contacts and also checked the belt contact. everything works and recognizes as it should. If I unplug the connector from the seat, the problem goes away. and you can drive, but there is an airbag error and the error message that the gear goes into P still comes (but the car drives.) If I decode the belt contact and the belt tensioner, then the car drives and the airbag error is not there. But the message still comes on the navigation display and it says please buckle up and close the door. fault memory in the engine control unit CDBA PT-Can message (status door sensors secured BN2000, 0x1E1) missing The question is, does anyone have an idea where the error may lie. or how I can get rid of the error message in the navigation system. Thanks in advance |

RE: Strange Problem X1 E84 goes in P when driving
You get EXACTLY such an issue (needing belt, similar fault) when FRM3 is replaced by FRM2. Was it in your car? FRM2 just does not send that message hence EGS does not know that door is closed and tries to ensure your safety...

RE: Strange Problem X1 E84 goes in P when driving
thanks for the hint. i changed for test the frm to an frm 2 to chek if the frm is damaged but the problem is still there. but maybe in the car was before frm2 too i will check that.
checked it now inside the car is frm 3 Max Brose. seems that the best solution ist to test other frm3 |

RE: Strange Problem X1 E84 goes in P when driving
IMHO there were NO E84s with FRM2. FRM3 ONLY!!!
P.S. I had many cases where scrapyards "upsell" FRM2s as "direct replacement for FRM3 which will not break", but then people come with EXACTLY that problem... Some are ok with it, most are not. I could check if that is a proper FRM3 for the car, but I need to know it's part number and car's VIN. Have you tried reflashing/recoding it? Maybe someone flashed wrong firmware to it? |

RE: Strange Problem X1 E84 goes in P when driving
node is right, you need correct FRM3 part number for your vin, winkfp to flash with correct vin, with ncsexpert FA write from CAS, and then code it

HW number seems to be ok. Question is what firmware it contains.
