INPA / NCSEXPERT caused bad issue with E89 won't start
I've searched and can't find an answer to this.

I have very limited use with INPA and NCSEXPERT, but I have been trying use these with my wife's E89 Roadster.

She wanted the roof to close on the key fob and I believe NCS can enable this through coding.

Anyway I have managed to connect up and read with both INPA and NCS. I have played around a little, nothing too heavy but now I can't start car properly.

It lights up the ignition but not cranking. If I cycle it a number of times I get the 'Foot Pedal Brake' symbol and if I put my foot on both clutch and brake pedal it will eventually start.

It may be something in CAS module I did go into that with INPA.

I have read errors with INPA and it gives a CAS error only. AB01 and something about Implausible Signal.

Then German write up relating to values and that it will not illuminate a warning light.

Wife is doing her nut.

Any help please on this much appreciated.

Thanks.

INPA did not cause any problem to your car, you did. You write "AB01 and something about Implausible Signal" and expect someone to tell you what is the problem?
First disconnect the battery for a few hours and test. If it doesnt work try to do complete car coding with NCS. If it doesnt work you may want to read the codes and post a screenshot here.

bawareca, no need for the comment !!,

"INPA did not cause any problem to your car, you did. You write "AB01 and something about Implausible Signal" and expect someone to tell you what is the problem?

I already said I had limited use with INPA and NCS, so don't need you telling me this !!!

I have a problem either help or don't comment.

I can not disconnect battery, the boot will not unlock, the windows don't operate and the locks drop when I put key in ignition.

Attached is the error, like I said it's AB01 Implausible Signal. How much more do you need, the error is attached but will not tell you much more.

This error might not even relate to this problem.

Thanks for your comments.

I think you coded something wrong...

my interpretation for this failure is that the CAS cannot recieve the message from EGS whether the gear is, P or N!
But you got a manual transmission, so i dont know if my interpret is correct.

Check other modules for errors

@bursuc: he wrote that light coming up, but not cranking smile

No just ignition lights only.

Just tried some other ways of starting. Now if I put my foot on the brake and other foot on clutch it will start.

But windows will not work, roof does not work and boot will not unlock.
Strange behaviour, because these as different ECUs, roof is CTM module, ignition seems to be a CAS problem and windows etc are different.

Will try NCSEXPERT on CAS and see if resetting works.

CHRIZ, thanks for reply buddy.

Yeah it's a manual gearbox. The strange thing is the foot brake and clutch.

I know in ESYS for F Series you can code Clutch, Brake or nothing Start. But not sure with NCS ??.

I know there are some options in CAS for your Engine, Gears, and transmission type, but can this option stop your car working ?! i dont know it.

First Check your installation from NCS again, Interface settings etc. read a manual to code your car for default values. Then recode CAS with default setting and hope it will start biggrin

Sorry for my english smile

CHRIZ, just in the car now.

Cleared out the FSW_PSW.MAN from NCS and did a reset.

Everything back to normal again.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll stick to ESYS and ISTA/P in future !!.

CHRIZ, Your English is fine buddy.

Cheers.

RE: INPA / NCSEXPERT caused bad issue with E89 won't start
Try Coding it to default
Read-out module
Open working folder
Open and Empty MAN file
Open and Empty FSW file
Now Code it again
See if you fixed your coding

If any of my posts or current one helps then don't forget to press thanks and add a reputation thankyou

So your problem is gone, and car is starting? Fine! smile

hmm but if you want to change something like roof opening with key fob, ISTA/P wont help, and ESYS is only for FSeries Coding, so you have to learn a little bit more with NCS smile
