Hi all,

I have an issue with my e60 ecu where by when it gets hot there is no communication between ecu and rest of the modules so you will see tons of transmission error and dsc errors on the screen.

cut it short, I bought a second hand ecu and did change the vin using winkfp but when I try to sync the ews and dde , it says incorrect start value.

reading around people say I need to virgin the ecu . do you know what this is

Without offence mate, in this forum we learn more than what does virgin ECU means!! So please Google it, use search button and learn... Then you will get it...

I should have been more clear, I know it means removing car specific data but need help really with this and appreciate any input .

I have bought bdm 100 and know I can clone the ecu but clueless as I am learing a lot so any help again is very much appreciated

If you write down your E60 specific model and DME model someone may be able to help you. Or post the dumps from both DMEs.

It is E60 530d 2004 model with dde model of 0281 011 224.

Looking around it is edc16c31
