You could have noticed that BMW releases first of every even minor version SDP as full. That is like 4.36.12, 4.38.10, 4.40.10, 4.42.10. So last full is 4.42.10 ATM.

I did search the forum but did not find info on this.

I got a BMW iX and was planning to do the Nov 23 update via ISTA. When I was doing the calculation I got the message "Notes on retrieving the secure tokens" Download Failed try again.

Another Message
"Information on the encoding data calculation failed" There is a failure in retrieving the calculation result or a connection problem to the BMW Secure Coding Backend.

I have attached the screenshots.

I am aware that BMW has locked the ECU's on the iX. As I am planning to do the update on the iX so just wanted to ask if it's safe to ignore these warnings and proceed with the upgrade?

I have updated my BMW X5 G05 with no issues with the Nov 23 update.

Just a general question, whats the difference between those .ista packages and the standalone version ? Does this one need an online activation?

You can use the SDP and BLP ISTA packages to update standalone but the rest and the MSI installer really need a proper iLean license.
