A lot of confusion but fgtech mentioned a crash can be due to eeprom.
So I didn't see any instruction on the ept and eeprom. Order? etc. They did explain how to use the g2_ee file.
First ept program mprog... Scan. Open file the v54.ept. Program.
Then run the eeprom flasher. I picked the one with "mine" in the name.
Oddly, on a read and hex compare, the last line or so does not match. I think my eeprom holds onto serial?

Then another issue ftd2xx.dll has to be copied to the fgtech directory!
Run first crashes eobd2 and ghelper. Second or third run just crash ghelper, but then galletto runs and sees 0475!

I have edc17cp09 BMW 35d ecu, unfortunately it is not in this galletto. They have edc17cp02/c06 under e90 3 series. I guess that would work as a similar ecu?

You have to read it under Boot tools, tricore boot, and choose your Tricore chip model.

So I bought 2 Gallettos from the same seller...

I managed to flash the first one fine using robnitros method in post #50. It flashed with Flash Magic fine after some tinkering.


The second Galletto keeps on failing. It refuses to flash Block 0. So it skips flashing 0x0000-0x1FFF every time. No matter the baud rate setting. If I try to erase just block 0, I get an error.

So when flashing, the verification is incorrect to the original file.

   



Any bright ideas? Or anyone know what is broken?

When it flashes, it starts at 0x1DFFF and counts down. At 0x2000, it stops, skips block 0 (0x0000-0x1FFF) and then goes into verify flash. So verification read is wrong.

Every time.

Plug in your ttl in a usb 2.0 port , use proper drivers or try with one ttl ft232 based with drivers 2.10

Any reason why the two Gallettos (which look the same on the mainboards, I bought at the same seller, same time) would behave so differently at flash time?

I used this software for a long time .
Now I had to reinstall it on my PC.
When I re-downloaded software V54 for 475 from Fantomel's MEGA link and my antivirus now detected the following problem:

FTDI TTL device came in finally.... and still the same problem.

But I solved it.

.... it helps to set the Oscillator in FlashMagic at 16000 KHz... also known as 16 MHz, NOT 16000 MHz.
Stupid mistake. FlashMagic asks for the value in MHz not KHz like in Philips Flash Utility.
