RE: E90 FRM module
Got supplied a replacement 'new' module but had already been in another car and had the VIN programmed to it.
Was wondering if that could be removed/changed or does it not matter?
Coding it to the new car won't be an issue?

A warning. If you don't know how to use these tools, don't waste your time.
Do your research and you should post the series and model year.
Everything here is a best guess because you posted NO INFORMATION!

All this is at YOUR risk.
I use all these tools and read every document associated with this software.
I did my research.

Edit: 19 downloads and one thanks = document deleted.

Incorrect. Polite people say and express thanks for the work, the effort and the expertise.

My parents taught me to express thank you! I teach my children to also express gratitude.

My students always say thanks for a good lesson and research that help solve problems.

RE: E90 FRM module
You can reflash the frm module with the correct vin. Do you have the software and a coding cable?
if the Frm was removed from a vehicle similar to yours it will function without any issue
