It's usually a good practice to have every version of MS Visual C++ Redist (2005-2022, both x86 and x64) installed on every Win system for the best compatibility with any given software.
These runtimes do not take a lot of space and don't break anything in the system either.
I do not see any reason not to install them just in case.

Before running the installer, I recall my Windows 10 OS already had installed:
(Checking in Control Panel>Programs and Features)
MS Visual C++ Redist 2005-2019 (x86) & (x64)

After (enabling .NET  3.5 before running the installer then) running the installer, I'm noticing installed:
MS Visual C++ Redist 2005-2022 (x86)*

*Not sure if the installer installed it or if my enabling of .NET 3.5** (which I think I had manually installed before, then automatically downloading necessary files) installed it. I'll be doing a complete reinstall on a fresh VM so I'll update later if I can. I'll install both (x86) & (x64) of the 2022 last version manually.

**Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > enabled 3.5 (main check box only, not the sub folder items, .NET 4.8 was already "enabled" so left as is.)

On a side note for VM users, regarding the CPU speed requirement:
If you run into the CPU speed requirement(minimum 2.2GHz) issue, because your host system's energy saving setting has the the CPU base speed set lower(e.g. 1.7GHZ), even though its Intel Turbo Boosted rating is higher than 2.2GHz(2.5GHz+), there is a work around:

Add the following to the .vmx file:
timeTracker.apparentHz = "2200000000"

It changes what the guest OS and applications within the VM will "report" as the CPU clock frequency. So you could set something like timeTracker.apparentHz = "4900000000" or timeTracket.apparentHz = "90000000", tools like CPU-Z inside a VM would show 4.9GHz or 90MHz but it won't make any difference in actual VM execution speed. But apps like the installer will see this set CPU speed and proceed with installation if it is 2.2GHz or higher. In Task Manager>Performance, the guest(VM) system CPU's base speed will be indicated as the set speed and be fixed(will not vary), but the "real" processing speed of the guest will vary and be close to that of the host system's CPU state which will vary from its base speed and the upper limit of the boosted speed.

Yes, latest is for E series, R series MINIs and some Rolls-Royce models from that time period.
Earlier versions of ISTA-P covered also F series.

First, thanks for sharing this and all the support... just a few questions...

I notice that the Connection Manager button is greyed out. In previous versions, it was possible to setup/select the interface by pressing the Connection Manager button and entering the related settings window (before connection to a vehicle).

1. Has this version changed so that a vehicle must be connected or has there been a change such that the interface is limited to ICOM?
(I noticed there is no OBD.INI file in the EDIABAS>BIN folder.)

Also, I noticed that in the installer installed EDIABAS>BIN>EDIABAS.INI the title mentions version 7.2 (not 7.3 ???), and "Interface" is set to ENET.

2. Has anyone had to edit the EDIABAS.INI, perhaps add in an OBD.INI file, or separately install EDIABAS/Standard Tools?

Update: Apparently the ISTA-P 3.72 installer installs MS Visual C++ Redist 2005-2022 (x86) if it is not already installed.

Using Loader 6.6 and ISTA P 3.72 updated all modules E92 with changed DDE ECU, no problem at all!

e36/e39/e46/e53/e83 etc. do not have iStep / iLevel and have not received any updates in a very long time..
These vehicles may be considered as vintage / legacy in some countries now, judging by their age

Nevertheless, there are all necessary data for flashing and coding inside latest ISTA-P
