7.(newer) YEAR_2022-->
and use it according to car you are working on 

Hello, sorry to post lately, just updated to latest ista.
I tried 1st method to copy api_dll but ista launcher detected to repair ista..
2nd options was to copy ista/bin to c/ediabas/bin is reading fast now but i think tool32 not working anymore.
Anyone can please advise me witch methos is better in order to work faster ista and also keep others tools to work?

I'M NOT A PROFFESIONAL developer of an EDIABAS, but this is what i would do, since i have copies of an older installed INPA in VirtualOS, i can always power-it up and copy it.

Use VM Station/VirtualBOX
Fresh XP/Win7
Make snapshot of Virtual_OS
Install INPA 5.4.7 
Copy Complete EDIABAS Folder and zip-it(compress it)
Go back in snap-shoot, make it fresh again
Install 7.3 EDIABAS
Copy Complete EDIABAS Folder and zip-it(compress it)
Go back in snap-shoot, make it fresh again
Install 7.6( or newer version)
Copy Complete EDIABAS Folder and zip-it(compress it)
Now after you copied 3 times, 3 different folders zip-it and keep it
then use right copy of "EDIABAS Folder" for the car that you are working on'

Why do you do this with the new ISPI Launcher?

1) NOT everybody on version 46.xx/47.xx
2) To interest other user(s)/people trying to crack/by_pass new(er) way of authentication for ISTA and maybe down the road there will be another way of running ISTA standalone instead of paying for license.
This year 2024 to year 2026 economy is going to be down(like-2008 days), so there will be more time available for people seating at home and maybe some people in-turn will thinker with files. (that's my thinking behind post)

Hello everyone, I've been following this thread since the beginning. I've been sitting on 4.45.30 for a long time waiting for some permanent solution to the conflict between the two versions of ediabas.
Apparently it won't be anytime soon, so I've already updated my main laptop. So, from the mods mentioned in the first post, the version where I copy the files from "C:\Program Files (x86)\BMW\ISPI\TRIC\ISTA\Ediabas\BIN" to "C:\ediabas\ bin", along with deleting "ediabas_config_dir" from "environment variables".
ISTA works fast with ICOM, Enet and K+Dcan, with this setup it read my F11 in 2 minutes 20 seconds, without it 15 minutes with an Enet cable.
INPA, NCSexpert and WinKFP work properly, but FSC Reader from Sedoy does not work.
For the FSC reader I get an error saying it can't find ediabas and directs me to edit ediabaslib.
I tried everything but it doesn't work for me.
Has anyone managed to configure the FSC reader to work?

While not deleted the Enviroment Variable ediabas_config_dir and using Node patched api32.dll in C:\EDIABAS\BIN ISTA very slow with ENET cable.
Tried replace C:\EDIABAS\BIN to 7.6 then INPA works very slow.
Deleted Enviroment Variable ediabas_config_dir and using Ediabas 7.3 with patched api32.dll both ISTA and INPA works normal

could you try to have ISTA+ in use on E-series....and then put it in backgroud and try to use NCS or INPA without closing connection in ISTa?

Hello, same as you I consider this a big minus for newest ISTA as it was very easier to work in previous version with Inpa or NcsExpert or Tool32 simultaneously while Ista was already opened and connected to car.
I've tried to replace the C:\EDIABAS\BIN with the one from Ista, I also replaced inside ista with another version of ediabas 7.6 but always when trying to open either one of the Inpa suite programs it will throw error with IFH 0018 and No api calls possible
