Skoda Kodiaq 2018 issues..
Greetings!
my brother have issues with his 2018 Kodiaq after he disconnected battery and sd/cd player thing when needed to install engine/compartment heater.
Now infotainment display etc is dead..black screen?
5f module can't be reached..( i have obd11,vcds oem, and odis+ oem 5054a adapter)
any clues what to do?
cheers!/H

RE: Skoda Kodiaq 2018 issues..
Somebody cut a wrong wire or faulty wiring installation has popped a fuse?
We don't know what he did when he got this heater thing installed..
Has he done any coding/activations to enable this heater to work? WE DON'T KNOW!

First thing first - check all fuses. If anything has popped - disconnect your heater, replace fuses and check if radio works.
If that was the case - troubleshoot your heater installation outside the vehicle.

no wires cut ...all fuses ok.
its not an auxillary heater...its an nordic engine and compartment heating smile no coding neccessary and so on.
He only disconnected the sd/cd player unit and battery.

On the 5f unit in the glove box, check the plug to see if there is 12v current. If you have excellent current, check if the plug is properly inserted, disconnect the battery again and wait a few minutes with it disconnected and then turn it on again to see if it wakes up.

yeah all ok there...my brother checked that and also can wiring voltage and ohms.......very strange

the manual states that if u disconnect battery u have to couple infotainment display/etc to car....something like component protection?....never heard that u cant disconnect battery...

the fault log should in that case show cp ? it doesnt

No CP cannot be triggered by disconnecting battery, even if there is CP triggered unit would be not fully dead. And yes if CP is active you would definitely see it as static fault in scan.

It more sounds like your brother have incorrectly reassembled back connector(-s) for a MMI box (or bent some pins in the process).
Double check that everything is in order there.
