Because it is entered in the VCM in your old ZGW and not in your new ZGW.

With BimmerUtility it reads ECUs not from VCM hence why only 2 show up or 1 depending on the ZGW.
If it was reading VCM then it would show all the "ECUs" and since I did not have FLA as this is a retrofit, it wouldnt have been in my ZGW01. My old ZGW did not have FLA option. If you look in the pictures you will see it is reading ECU as only FLA and ZGW show. I used Esys with ZGW2 and not shown. I fail to see how this is not a ZGW problem. |

All ZGW has two CAN1 connectors. One on 50/51 is for Controller, FLA etc.
The other one on 7/8 is connected to Headunit, CID, HUD Check that this 2 connectors are full work on your new ZGW xSK. I think not. If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button. Thank you.

50/51 also contains the Seats which all function with no errors listed.
7/8 has HU, IHKA, etc which all work with no errors All components on KCAN1 work in the car regardless of which ZGW is installed, ZGW01 High or 4/8SK. Based on the above fact that both KCAN lines work when installed as the associated ECUs also work I still cannot see how the ZGW IS NOT the problem. While I understand that it should still report regardless as its on the network, it doesn't when using ZGW2, only appears on ZGW01 (again, the ZBE 10pin only works on CAN1, and shows up on ZGW01 but not on the 4/8SK as expected) |

Exactly. I did that as well. Not all ecus are visible to zgw hence why FLA not showing on 4/8SK and only only ZGW01 where expecting it could be there.
And now if I bought a CAN2 FLA which would be fine for my NBT but now would it be trying to send over CAN2 to ZGW to FRM or is the FRM expecting expecting it on CAN1 |

I had same problem after NBT retrofit in my 5GT F07 2009, so exchanged FLA to FLA2, connecting to can2 and all was working fine. |

Trouble is the mounting on the windshield isn’t the same as mine for the can2 version.
I’ll buy one and see how I can swap housings or something. Ultimately I see FRM only has can2 so the zgw gateway table must be part of the reason why it wouldn’t have ever worked as it would have the correct routing over to can2 whereas the zgw2 doesn’t Thanks for confirming. Appreciate it |
